Art With A Heart Inc.

I have done my co-op placement here and cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience has been. All the staff members are very supportive and create such a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through their door. They treat everyone like they are family, creating a safe space for you. I would also recommend all their programs. As a volunteer for the bloom program and a participant of the BIPOC coping skills class, I can say that these programs have amazing facilities who put so much thought into each project they present. Overall, I would 100% recommend them if you are looking for great art programs, especially for the summer!

My son participated in Art With A Heart summer camp last year. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was calm, which was something that was important for my child to feel safe. He got to participate in various arts based activities, and there was always something fun planned each week such as a water day. At the end of the week the kids got to present their work in an art show, which was so special and exciting. The value was incredible and we plan to sign up again this year.

Sheri and her incredible team of summer staff made a wonderful addition to our programming at the Refuge Outreach Youth Center this summer. We had a blast creating new art pieces each week. Ethan, Tessa and Maryna.......we loved getting to know you and being together on Friday mornings! Thank you Art With A Heart Inc. for the difference you make in the community!

We are currently participating in the Bloom program at Art With A Heart, and cannot say enough good things about our experiences! The staff, students and volunteers are amazing! It’s such a warm, and welcoming space. Each class is a new adventure with so many different art activities! My son, who has severe cognitive disabilities, just radiates pure joy when we are there! There are very few places that we can go where we feel welcome, at Art With A Heart we feel like we belong . I highly recommend for all ages and abilities!

This is honestly quite the respectable organization considering all that they do for their community, both as a charity and as a safe space for all to create art. They have a very inclusive space doing programs for LGBTQ+ adults as well as BIPOC programs for adults, adults with disabilities, children and teens. They also run art events over at the pickering town center. The LGBTQ + and BIPOC group programs are online. These program is focused on marginalized groups, giving them a space to themselves to create, express themselves and share their art. These programs are specific with applying coping skills that are good for mental wellness as well. With the programs for kids, teens, and adult's with disabilities these are events that are ongoing for a certain amount of time but these specialize in giving each person the freedom to express themselves through the arts and to build a community amongst one another. They also have "Let's Create" programs which are available on certain days online or in person to which anyone is free to join in the studio where paint supplies are included. Let's Create programs are great for a special occasion, family treat, or outing with friends. These programs do come at a cost and you can find these costs on their socials like Facebook, Instagram and on their website. My good friend has been a placement student here for some time now and she loves it, it brings her comfort, new opportunities and a chance to connect with our community using one of her passions, Art. When we get together often she shares about her many good experiences she's had in the program and she'll show me the art she herself has made and it's very wholesome and gives even her the chance to get creative. I recommend checking them out especially if you want to bond with your kid, family, peers or friends , the "Let's Create" program would be good for y'all 🩷 Good on yah Art With A Heart , There isn't always safe spaces especially for young kids to go to and create art so thanks for giving them a chance!
