I know I’m VERY late to the party with La Rocca, but I finally visited it last week and loved it! Nice interior, fantastic selection of tasty treats, and stellar service. I had the pleasure of dealing with the owner and she was wonderful. She was patient, very friendly and was kind enough to provide me with a number of gluten-free options for my Mom. Long story, short, my Mom loved the 4 treats that I bought her! She can’t stop raving about them. If you’re in the midtown area, pay them a visit. :) Thank you to the La Rocca team for a fabulous experience!

This cake is AMAZING. My husband is strictly a chocolate-cake guy, so when he said this one was fabulous, I knew it was serious 😄 The mix of crunchy and creamy textures in one cake is so good. It’s also a great size..we’ve been eating it for three days now and still going, we can’t finish it. I hope it doesn’t have a ton of sugar 😅 but honestly, it’s totally worth it as a treat once in a while. I highly recommend the Original Super Caramel Crunch. And this is coming from someone whose husband usually hates caramel and this is the first time he actually liked it in a cake! 🍰

I bought a pistachio-almond cake from La Rocca Creative Cakes for about $40, expecting something special. It looked beautiful, but the taste was a big disappointment. The center was basically plain sponge cake with no real pistachio or almond flavor. The first bite was overwhelming sugar just sweetness, with no depth or balance. The outside is covered with pistachios and nuts, but that alone doesn’t make it a pistachio almond cake. Honestly, there was nothing unique about it. It wasn’t better than a basic grocery store cake that might cost $12. For a place that positions itself as a premium cake shop, this was very underwhelming. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I’ve been a loyal customer of La Rocca Bakery for years and have always enjoyed their cakes, but I was really disappointed this time. I purchased the carrot cake, which was listed as having cream cheese frosting — however, it was clearly buttercream instead. The flavor and texture just weren’t what I expected. Carrot cake is always meant to have cream cheese frosting, so this was really disappointing. I hope the bakery reviews their labeling to ensure customers know exactly what they’re getting.

We ordered a birthday cake from La Rocca, and it was an excellent choice. They were one of the few places that had a dark chocolate cake, and it turned out to be absolutely amazing—rich, fresh, and full of flavor. If you’re looking for quality cakes, I would definitely recommend La Rocca. We’ll definitely be coming back again.
