What parents are saying
I've been here twice now and really enjoyed the drinks and desserts I got. They have exotic flavours like durian and longan, which were delicious! I was worried they would try to "hide" the durian flavour because of its reputation, but it was front and centre in my latte without being too overpowering. Things are a little pricey here but I think it's worth it for the quality. The staff are super friendly too.
One of my fav for sure. Varied cakes to choose from. Lovely staff really make the day more cheerful. The decor is absolutely my style. Love that they also keep the restroom nice and clean. I've come here mutiple times and quite satisfied with everything. Just about the capacity of dine in can be hectic during weekends. Better to come earliest or latest 🍵
LALA Bakeshop had been on my must-visit list for a while, so I was happy to finally try it during a recent trip to Toronto. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and, although some items were already sold out, there was still a decent selection available. The café was busy and filled with people working, but the vibe was still great — minimalist, stylish, and very inviting. I tried three desserts: a matcha jasmine lava bun, a banana cinnamon roll, and a pistachio raspberry croissant. 24$ total - Visually, everything was absolutely beautiful. I was a bit surprised to see that my entire order was reheated using a microwave and oven, but the result varied from one item to another and was still enjoyable overall. Nothing was overly sweet, and the textures and flavor combinations were well thought out. I’m glad I tried LALA Bakeshop, but I wouldn’t say I was impressed enough to make it a must-return spot for me. That said, Toronto is a gold mine for food, and this was still a nice experience. Definitely worth trying and forming your own opinion. Bon appétit!
A modern Vietnamese cafe opens at its first location in Toronto! The interior is so cozy and beautifully refined. I also love their Asian-inspired ginkgo logo💛The hat with a ginkgo logo they’re wearing is so cute, too! We really enjoyed their modern Vietnamese drinks and sweets, and the owner’s warm personality made us love the place even more😆🥰 Grand Opening -December 13-14 *The first 50 customers-premium made-in-Vietnam LALA BAKESHOP tote and 30% off! *All customers-15% off all day and a free drink with a Google review! My favourites (honestly hard to choose!) 🍵 Salted Banana Matcha Latte : Rich, strong matcha meets their house-made salted banana-bread–like sauce! Enjoy that perfect salty-and-sweet combo! 🥐 Garlic Cream Croissant : Super garlicky with a touch of sweetness! 🇻🇳 Salted Egg Cake : A must-try! An authentic Vietnamese treat. ☕️ Coconut Coffee Lava Cake : I can’t even explain how soft and creamy this is. Heavenly~! Drinks $6~ Mini cake$12~ Banh mi $8~ IG: sayo_in_canada 日本語でも投稿しています!
Came here after a morning run in –10°C and made La La Bakeshop my finish line. Ever since I saw this Vietnamese bakery opening its new location late last year, it’s been on my must-visit list. Even though I’d checked the menu beforehand, seeing the pastries in person still left me undecided as everything looked like it was calling my name! I ended up getting the salted egg yolk lava bun, and honestly, this is the kind of treat you get just for yourself. The filling is molten and messy in the best way, and there’s simply no elegant way to share it. A little lava on your fingers feels almost part of the experience. For drinks, I originally planned on the sea salt caramel banana latte, but at the last second the pandan pistachio latte caught my eye. After all anything with tropical notes always wins me over. Warm, fragrant, not too sweet, and it paired beautifully with the pastry. The space is exactly my vibe: minimalist but not cold, softened by the warm yellow lighting. I sat right under the “tree,” and there’s something about having a tree indoors that brings life and a sense of calm. The BGM is also surprisingly soothing, very spa-like and relaxing. I stayed for the first hour after opening and watched a steady stream of customers come through, many of whom looked like regulars, which feels impressive for such a new shop.(at least in this new location). Definitely bringing the hubby next time, and I can see myself coming back many, many times. I’m already thinking about ordering their cakes for birthdays or gifting their little cake boxes to friends.
