After a work visit, I needed a good brew and a bite to eat so I ended up coming by this cute little cafe! Stepping into this location, I was greeted immediately and given plenty of time for me to pick through their various options. Going with a misto, a everything cookie, a brownie and some banana pudding, I felt like I was stocked up. I was allowed to decide how much water was going into my coffee and that was very welcome! Being told of the allergy notices as a heads up as I was picking through the different options was also very welcome. The coffee was excellent, with a creamy finish from the milk but still stable and almost a malty note from the coffee itself. The cookie was excellent, almost black magic that it was chewy and held its consistency despite it being gluten free and vegan. The brownie was also decadent without it being cloyingly sweet, with a hint of a stout profile and a fudgy texture. The banana pudding (despite the sign for 1 per customer) was a let down. Yes, the cream was perfect and even the slices of banana was even and almost mechanically precise, it was texturally lacking. Having some sort of crumb or anything like a banana tuile would elevate it and give it that right amount of crisp to it. This is such a good spot to sit down and enjoy a brew and see the city of Toronto go by you. A slight misstep but still a lot of good offerings at this location!

I came across this bakery cafe on my walk today on a snowy Sunday. They were super busy (aka very popular!) but the line went quickly and smoothly. Their displays are gorgeous and display their pastries/sweets so well under the ambient lighting. I ordered a few of their cinnamon buns and a hot chocolate. Both were delicious and so perfect for the cold weather. The servers were so nice and welcoming. They have seating, but it is quite limited. I would suggest going alone or with another friend if you wish to sit and enjoy your desserts. I'm not sure what time is best to come by, but for reference, I came around 2pm in the afternoon on a Sunday and they were packed. I highly recommend this place! I can't wait to go back and try their other sweet treats.

bakerbots is INCREDIBLE every SINGLE treat here is INSANELY delectable and so perfected and so well made and also freshly made, seriously COME HERE. it was super busy on the weekend though so prepare yourself ! the bread pudding was soooo delectable. i had the chocolate almond croissant bread pudding and it had a slightly crispy exterior coated in nutty almonds and lightly sweet chocolate, with a soft and dense interior. the textures were incredible and it wasn’t too sweet at all, it was just so so so yummy I LOVE. another absolute STANDOUT was the chocolate cake WOWWW this is no ordinary chocolate cake. the cake itself was so moist, like the moistest i’ve ever had, super fluffy and soft, and it wasn’t too sweet at all. it was like a brownie kind of honestly, with gooey frosting/icing layered between that gave a perfect bit of rich decadence. the jalapeño gruyère scone was also a fantastic savoury option — i got it heated, and it was crunchy on the outside but so moist and warm and buttery and fluffy on the inside. the jalapeño was a bit aromatic and a bit spicy but it was balanced by the savouriness of the cheddar. i was also surprised by how much i enjoyed the apple toffee bundt. surprisingly, the glazed crust was actually SALTY and that paired really well with the nuttiness of the pecans, the sweetness of the cake, and classic apple-cinnamon flavour. it was also super addicting. again, the cake texture was perfectly soft and moist. the banana pudding was obviously great as well — it was incredibly creamy and this was definitely a sweeter option compared to other treats, but it still wasn’t sickening at all. there were large chunks of banana and they were super generous with the bready wafers. the only thing i was a bit disappointed by/would skip is the mini apple crumble; i asked to get it warm, but it was completely cold when i received it. but even if it was warm, i don’t think it would’ve been as good as other stuff from here — the inside had lots and lots of tart, fruity apple chunks, but i thought those flavours kind of dominated the crust and granola, and i wish those parts had a bit of a more prominent flavour to balance out the sweetness.

I came on April 1st during the evening with my friend and was helped by the lady and gentleman. They were both Asian. I wouldn’t normally mention race but I wanted to find a way to identify them somehow. Nonetheless we had such a great customer service experience, the lady was very patient. And the gentleman came to our table to see how everything was and if we wanted a beverage. He was very sweet and cute! We had the Cinnamon bun, banana pudding and chocolate cake. The first two were a standout, that cinnamon bun was perfect in every way. Very soft, completely covered in a semi sweet icing. And the banana pudding was very banana-ey, I loved how the cream was more custard in texture rather than airy. The chocolate cake was very dense. I personally prefer more of a fudge chocolate vibe but it was still good!

The carrot cate and the chocolate cake (the one with mayo I believe) are the best I’ve EVER had. It is now 2am in the morning and I am drenched in guilt and regret because I only got one of each. The banana pudding is also insanely delicious. DEVOURED within seconds.
