Went in to get a few things to bring as dessert. I asked to have the brownie cut in half. She proceeded to butcher it with the BACK OF A PLASTIC FORK! I asked her if she had a knife and she replied by saying she did in the back but didn’t want to wash it! I can’t make this up! $19 for two cupcakes and a brownie and no class to cut it with a knife! Never again! Update: After leaving my initial review, the owner reached out personally and handled the situation with genuine care, professionalism, and generosity. She reviewed the interaction, took the matter seriously, and made a sincere effort to make things right. While my original experience was disappointing, I truly appreciate the way management responded. It’s clear they value both their product and their customers, and that kind of accountability matters. I’m confident this was an isolated incident and look forward to returning for a much better experience.

I do not have any photos of the cupcakes but their other treats are amazing as well. Sweet treats done right and with enough variety you can give something to almost anyone, inlcuding gluten free. Cinnamon buns, cookies, cheesecake cups, and of course the cupcakes. All of it is delicious.

These vanilla birthday cake cups are incredible. I've tried several flavors, and they've all been delicious. They stayed fresh for so long, I had one for a week having a bit here and there. (My dog is obsessed with them) $10. Each, so worth it!

Reply: When I called before I offered to pay over the phone for four cupcakes, but you declined my request. I had my credit card ready! When we arrived, you apologized and told us that if we had mentioned it was us, you would have accommodated us. In any other store, there would be a sign indicating if there’s a limit on items. If there are ongoing issues with the cupcakes, perhaps you should consider making more. I've been to your store over thirty times and have always been polite; I haven't sworn or yelled. The other customer in the store didn’t comment on your statements; he just wanted to get his cupcakes. Many of my family members and friends have experienced the same issue, and while one staff member has been rude, the rest of your team has been wonderful! Orginal: This place has amazing gluten-free cupcakes, but the "rules" seem to change every day! A couple of weeks ago, I called to inquire about gluten-free options and was told there were four available. I expressed my interest and offered to pay over the phone with my credit card, but the lady insisted it was first come, first served. When I went in, I was limited to buying just four. Fast forward to today—I called again and was told there were five or six cupcakes available, and it was still first come, first served. I was just around the corner, so I rushed over. When I arrived, I spotted seven cupcakes and asked my dad which one he wanted. Suddenly, the lady yelled that someone had already called in and paid for four of them! I reminded her that she had said it was first come, first served, but she replied that the person was coming from Brantford. At that point, I was really frustrated. It felt like she was changing the rules on a whim. She kept insisting that we should pre-order, but we don't want to do that—we come when we're in the area. I looked at my dad and said, "Let's go." I won't be coming back! The way she argues and changes her policies daily is just too much.

We have had the pleasure to try the sweets at Beyond The Batter a few times now. Service has always been great and friendly. The selection of cupcakes, cookies and other treats is always excellent. This trip we got a few cookie sandwiches, brownies and nanaimo bar squares. All tasted great and were fresh. Prices were reasonable, compared to other bakeries in the area, also to note the portion sizes are very generous. Definitely worth checking out Beyond the Batter to cure your next sweet tooth.
