Turtledoves Bakery

I was really excited to discover this gluten-free bakery while passing through Burlington. They had a great variety of products, which was wonderful to see. Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. The staff member stood at the cash register watching us while we browsed and seemed inconvenienced when we asked a question about one of the products. It didn’t feel very welcoming. I purchased some cookies, and while they tasted good, I was very disappointed to find a hair in one of them. I truly hope this feedback helps improve both the customer experience and quality control, because the variety and concept are great.

I honestly wish I could give this a negative rating. This was one of the worst cakes I’ve ever ordered. It tasted like pure sugar, overly sweet, stale, and not fresh at all. I ordered it for a birthday, and it was extremely disappointing. All 12 of our guests commented on how bad it was. It felt like a complete waste of money. I’m very disappointed with the quality, especially for something meant for a special occasion.

I ordered a pull apart cupcake for my daughter’s birthday. I love the vanilla and chocolate frosting, the cupcakes are gluten free and are so delicious.the cupcakes turned out beautiful and tasted great!

The shop is beautiful but for a gluten free bakery their understanding of dietary restrictions is irresponsible at best. My friend can’t have dairy or eggs and we went in today to get her a treat. We chatted about the options and the employee suggested a couple of options. We chose the donuts, and then my friend asked about the cinnamon buns since they were marked dairy free and we were told the icing was but the buns contain dairy? 😂 long story short, if you want to see a bakery about dietary restrictions play fast and lose with your health, this is the place.

The cake was beautiful. The staff were very nice and the store is lovely. I would like to come back. The cake was very very very very sweet. The sweetness of the cake and the icing was over powering, making it hard to taste the other flavors of the strawberry shortcake. I truly would love to try the cake again, but using only 1/3 the amount of sugar. The bakery seems wonderful and it was my first time visiting. I look forward to coming back, and if I order a cake, I will be asking to make it much less sweet. Thank you!
